Flower of Scotland – Roy Williamson My Father by Karen Williamson
This is Karen Williamson’s own very personal view of her father and of life with fame and The Corries, based on memories from her childhood onwards as well as of others, with a foreward by Ronnie Browne.
A percentage of the profits raised from the sale of every book will be donated to charities nominated by Karen before her untimely death in May 2005.

I have got an Original copy of this book and i must say that it is a great read.
There are moments to bring a smile to your face even a tear to your eye.
This is one book that any Corries fan must have in their collection!

I ordered this book (an original publication) from Amazon just last week, received it Friday and finished it the next day. A very enjoyable read and with a lot of information about Roy Williamson, whom I’ve always admired, since my first Corries concert in 1968 (?) in Glasgow. That was the first of many concerts. I’d recommend the book to anyone who wishes to find out some more about Roy.

I received this book from my mother when it was first published. It moved me then and still does even now when I sometimes pick it up and re-read some of the latter chapters. It inspired me to create artwork for my motorcycle which I was re-painting, as it was the first time I discovered that Roy was a sometime motorcycle fan, perhaps even a wee bit o a biker!
It is so sad that Karen is no longer with us, then again she has been re-united with Roy. I defy anyone not to read through it and reflect how it can bring to mind the concerts when there was aye a wee laugh at times, then again a wee tear as we went along. I treasure my copy and would recommend this book to anyone, whether a Corries fan or not.

I have had a copy of this book for several years and despite having read it several times, it always has the power to make me smile or bring a lump to my throat. Anybody interested in The Corries should make sure that this sits alongside any Corries cd or dvd on their shelf.
